Pacific Waterfront Partners was engaged to secure and develop a location for the Pilara Foundation’s world class photography collection.
At 27,000 s.f., the Pilara Family Foundation at Pier 24 is the largest exhibition space dedicated to the collection and preservation of photography in North America. The renovation of Pier 24, a former cargo warehouse on the Embarcadero, me the Department of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Rehabilitation, and represents a major adaptive reuse on the waterfront.
PWP prepared financial feasibility studies, negotiated and secured approval for the lease with the San Francisco Port Commission and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, secured all necessary permits and entitlements for the project, and managed the entire development in 22 months.
